Before his passing Robert Brown directed that the remaining funds from the Australian Flute Society be used to provide grants to assist young Australian flautists to attend Flute Festivals or Flute Events.

The Flute Society of South Australia would like to make some of these funds available to young flautists wanting to attend the Australian Flute Festival in Sydney in 2025.

Selection basis:
This application form should be returned, together with the following documents:

1. Curriculum vitae or statement outlining your musical achievements
2. A statement explaining your reasons for applying for this award
3. An estimate of expenses to attend the festival (travel and accommodation)
4. Contact details of your teacher or referee to provide a statement of support if necessary

Rules of the award:
1. The purpose of the award is to help young people to alleviate the financial costs associated with attending Flute Festivals or Flute events
2. The value of the award is payable direct to the successful candidates.
3. Candidates for an award must be members of the Flute Society of South Australia.
4. The award shall be administered by the Flute Society of South Australia.
5. Selection of the successful candidates will be made by a committee from the Flute Society of South Australia.
