The Robert Brown Grant

Before his passing, Robert Brown directed that the remaining funds from the Australian Flute Society be used to provide grants to assist young Australian flautists to attend Flute Festivals or Flute Events.

The Flute Society of South Australia would like to make some of these funds available to young flautists wanting to attend the Australian Flute Festival in Sydney in 2025.

Selection criteria
Please apply in writing to the Flute Society of SA with the following information:

1. Curriculum vitae or statement outlining your musical achievements.
2. A statement explaining your reasons for applying for this grant.
3. An estimate of expenses to attend the festival (travel and accommodation).
4. Contact details of your teacher or referee to provide a statement of support if necessary.

Rules of the grant
1. The purpose of the grant is to help young people alleviate the financial costs associated with attending Flute Festivals or Flute events.
2. The Flute Society of South Australia shall administer the grant funds.
3. Candidates for a grant must be members of the Flute Society of South Australia.
4. The Flute Society of SA committee will manage the selection process and communicate with successful candidates.
5. Grant funding will be made payable directly to successful candidates.
